Stamp and Go at Penlee Lifeboat House - A Thousand Miles Apart

Stamp and Go, Cornish a-capella Shanty and Sea-song singers, perform Nigel Hallworth's song about the achievements of the Penlee and Longhope lifeboats - both of which were eventually lost with all hands. The verses are made up of the names of some of the many vessels to whose aid the lifeboat crews were sent. The occasion was the tour of Cornwall by members of the Stromabank Pub Choir from Orkney, which included previous crew members of the Longhope Lifeboat. The visit was arranged by Patch Harvey, current coxswain of the Penlee Lifeboat. Stamp and Go first sung this emotional song in the Royal Hotel at Longhope in Orkney, in the presence of crew members of the current Longhope Lifeboat and her coxswain Kevin Kirkpatrick, grandson of Daniel Kirkpatrick, the coxswain of the Lifeboat TGB when she was lost.
