Spekkie lived on the farm her whole life. She, her elderly mother and her young daughter were now being evicted because the new owner bought the farm without workers living on it. Where to now? Three generations of women were now up against the legacy of colonial and Apartheid land policies that reduced the indigenous people to mere labourers without any rights to land. A test of the new democracy in South Africa. Years later, filmmaker Lungiswa Sithole re-visits the beautiful wine growing region of Stellenbosch in the Western Cape Province of South Africa, to find out whatever happened to Spekkie.
