Today we are going to do a stimulus check update for folks with Social Security , SSDI , SSI and cover some new information released by the SSA about receiving your stimulus check to a payee. Specifically how stimulus checks will be paid out and some potential reasons why people with payees may have a delay in receiving their stimulus checks. Representative payees accepting Stimulus checks ・People who have a representative payee IRS will send stimulus check send to the bank account on the 2019 and 2018 tax If no tax was filed in 2018 or 2019 IRS will use information from SSA to generate the stimulus check and send it to the representative payee via the normal method of payment ( Direct Deposit Direct Express or paper check). Payed to past payee ・May have a previous payee who received the money instead of current payee ・Could be a family member, a former lawyer or another person who is designated as a payee Gaining SSI / SSDI in 2020 ・Began Receiving SSDI or SSI on or after January 1 , 2020 If you filed tax for 2018 or 2019: IRS began issuing electro stimulus checks on April 15th to people who filed taxes electronically. If you don't get an electronic refund will get payment sent out by paper check for you and any children listed on the tax return by mail.
