Bengaluru Fake Ghee Racket: Nandini Distributor Arrested For Selling Adulterated Product

A major counterfeit ghee racket in Bengaluru has been busted, involving the popular Nandini brand, which is owned by the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF). The main accused, Mahendra, an authorised KMF distributor, was arrested along with his son and two others for manufacturing and supplying fake ghee. The operation involved mixing palm and coconut oil with original Nandini ghee at a unit in Tamil Nadu and then selling the adulterated product in Bengaluru. According to Sagar, the reporter, 'he himself used to manufacture ghee using palm oil and coconut oil and mixed together and used to make adulterated Nandini ghee, which was also damaging the brand of Nandini.'
