John McLaggan | Interview With Mastering Engineer

During the last few months, I have spent a lot of time recording and mixing some of my own music. When I came to the end of the mixing stage and faced the obvious question - what should I do about this whole "mastering" thing? After watching a ton of mastering tutorials on YouTube before I had an idea - why not reach out to my friend John McLaggan, mastering engineer at Parachute Mastering here in Saint John, NB? Perhaps I could pick his brain to understand a little more about the role mastering plays in a song's production and also get some beginner-level tips on mastering my own music. And while I'm at it - why not film him sharing his mastering knowledge so other people can learn something too? And that is the lead up to my sharing this project.
