Other common names include 'boab', 'boaboa', 'bottle tree', 'the tree of life', 'upside-down tree', and 'monkey bread tree', tabaldi, and the dead-rat tree (from the appearance of the fruit). They can live for up to 5,000 years, reach up to 30 metres high and up to an enormous 50 metres in circumference. These trees are found as a small group together in a small area just northwest of Mirbat, high-up against the steep slope of the Dhofar Mountains in Wadi Hinna (Hannah) near the Anti Gravity Point.
