Lesson 04 First, Second, and Third-Person Subjects - SimpleStep Learning

In this lesson you will learn about first, second, and third-person subjects in English Grammar. In spoken language, so many sentences refer directly to either the speaker or the listener that grammar includes two terms to describe these people. The speaker is called the first person and the listener is called the second person. These terms are used to classify the subject pronouns. The two first person pronouns are I and we. I is the first person singular pronoun and we is the first person plural pronoun. The pronoun you is called the second person pronoun. The pronoun you can replace either a singular or a plural subject. The four remaining pronouns are all considered third person pronouns and are she, he, it, and they. Third person pronouns refer to something other than the speaker or the listener.
