Originally built in East Germany as Boltenhagen, P29 served as a naval minesweeper and later a patrol boat before being intentionally scuttled in 2007 to create an artificial reef. Today, this 52-metre wreck lies upright off Cirkewwa, just 150 m from shore, with depths ranging from 12 m to 34 m. This shore dive offers excellent visibility, clear navigation landmarks underwater, and plenty to see both inside and out. Experienced divers can enjoy open sections and penetration routes, while others can explore the exterior, covered in marine life. Wreck is usually dived from the shore. During summer season there is a big yellow buoy marking the wreck. When diving from the shore, either surface swim to the buoy, or swim in the midwater. There are two landmarks on the way to make the underwater navigation easier: first a memorial stone on sand and then an old anchor on sea grass area.
