Sky News host Peta Credlin discusses Melbourne’s crime crisis. “Enterprise is fleeing Victoria, the only booming business is bureaucracy, but the bureaucrats work from home, so the Melbourne CBD is dying, crime is out of control, and the budget is so deeply in debt that the rest of the country might soon have to bail out the state," Ms Credlin said. “In the year to June, there were nearly half a million criminal incidents, recorded by Victoria Police, up nearly 20 per cent on a year earlier. “Major retailers recently wrote to the Premier, citing a near 30 per cent surge in retail crime. “In the year to June, motor vehicle theft is up 42 per cent, and aggravated burglaries linked to car theft are reportedly up 220 per cent over the past five years.”
