A short step-by-step guide on how to rapid (fast) charge a Nissan Leaf using a ChargeNet public charging station. 1. Turn off your Nissan Leaf. 2. Open the charge port lid. 3. Lift the charge port lid. 4. Open the CHAdeMO port cover.. 5. CHAdeMO port is used for rapid (fast) charging. 6. Remove the CHAdeMO connector from the holster. 7. Check the connecting pins are clean. 8. Carefully plug in the connector. 9. A click sound can be heard when the connector is fitted correctly. 10. Present your ChargeNet RFID fob to the display. 11. Press START. 12. Charging will begin. 13. Blue charging status indicator lights will flash to show the Nissan Leaf is charging. 14. You must setup an account before using ChargeNet public charging stations. 15. Setup an account at charge.net.nz or through a partner such as BMW ChargeNow. 16. Once registered you can activate a charging session at any of the 200+ public charging stations around Aotearoa New Zealand. 17. Activate a session on the ChargeNet website or on the ChargeNet app. 18. Alternative you can activate a charging session with an RFID fob like in this video. 19. Charging times vary depending on your battery's state of charge and capacity. 20. A charging session may be stopped at anytime by pressing the STOP button. 21. Usually charging stops automatically when the battery reaches 80% capacity. 22. A light flashed telling you to disconnect the connector and place back into the holster. 23. Remove the connector, pressing your thumb on the button, then firmly pull towards you. 24. Place the connector back into the holster. 25. Close the charge port cover lid.
