The Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact was a neutrality pact between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union signed in Moscow on 23 August 1939 by foreign ministers Joachim von Ribbentrop and Vyacheslav Molotov, respectively. The treaty also included a secret protocol that defined the borders of Soviet and German "spheres of influence" in the event of possible rearrangement of the territories belonging to Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Finland. In other words, the protocol defined how Europe will be divided between Germany and Soviet Union. The Secret Protocol was just a rumor until it was made public at the Nuremberg trials. A week after signing this pact, Germany invaded Poland on 1 September 1939, and 2 weeks later, on 17 September 1939, Soviet Union invaded Poland from the eastern side. A video of the joint Soviet-Nazi parade in Brest-Litovsk was posted some time ago on this channel: • Joint Soviet-Nazi military parade in Polan... Soon after World War II, the German copy of the secret protocol was found in Nazi archives and published in the West, but the Soviet government denied its existence until 1989, when it was finally acknowledged and denounced. However, the Soviet copy of the protocol has never been disclosed until yesterday, May 31, 2019. Russian History Foundation published the original Soviet copy of the protocol: http://historyfoundation.ru/2019/05/3...
