RTI’s Center for Policing Research and Investigative Science (CPRIS) hosted their fifth policing symposium Multifaceted Crisis Response, focused on pressing issues that are impacting organizations and individuals working to make a difference in public safety and related fields in emergency response. These topics include cross-agency crisis response, workforce resiliency, multidisciplinary response to the opioid epidemic, and victim-centered response to domestic violence and sexual assault. This year’s symposium was co-sponsored by the North Carolina Justice Academy and officers were able to earn training hours for their intermediate/advanced law enforcement certificate via the Criminal Justice and Sheriffs' Commissions by attending. The goal of the policing symposium series is to disseminate the research and work CPRIS is doing in the criminal justice field to create relationships with criminal justice practitioners and research partners for future opportunities.
