Imagine this: strong liquor in your morning coffee. It may sound like an Irish coffee, but in Taiwan’s outlying islands of Matsu, there’s a barista who makes it with kaoliang – distilled from sorghum. And yet it’s alcohol-free! In the latest installment of "Where's Matsu’s County Chief Taking Us," Andrew Ryan visits a local distillery that stores kaoliang in an old military tunnel. Plus: a visit to a modern bistro that makes a craft beer with honeysuckle inspired by a beloved Belgian nun.
