In this seventh video of our Galápagos Islands series, we visit the Galápagos National Park and the Charles Darwin Research Station on Santa Cruz Island. This will be one of our longest and most detailed videos, covering scientific topics such as animal speciation and geological features that make these islands unique worldwide. The Galápagos Islands trip blends elements of a documentary, a travelogue, and a video series, but unlike others you may have seen, it’s an educational, scientific expedition led by a group of homeschoolers with a biblical worldview. In the morning, our adventure includes several side trips to observe the breeding of the large tortoises and a hike into a volcanic lava tube. After lunch and a brief lesson by Jaime, several Science Team students climbed into a large, preserved tortoise shell. Mrs. “D” was brave enough to climb in and have her photo taken, too. This is a must-watch. Imagine yourself becoming a “tortoise for a day.” We then ascended further into the highlands and reached two sinkholes formed by collapsed magma gas pockets. This evening, the plan was to end a busy day by capturing a beautiful sunset over Puerto Ayora. God had a better plan. Against the backdrop of today's learning, an unexpected flotilla of wedding boats was captured sailing into Academy Bay. This was a profound demonstration of God’s love and His desire to bless and preserve His Creation for His glory, illustrated by the metaphor of a marriage.
