Don’t Buy The RODE VIDEOMIC GO II For Outdoor Vlogging In Wind Until You've Watched This Video VS My DIY Primo EM272 Omni Sairen Mic So in this test I’m comparing the RODE VIDEOMIC GO II to my DIY omnidirectional Vlogging microphone build which consists of the 10mm Primo EM272 omni ECM electret condenser microphone capsule inside the body of a Seiren Nano Mic. Both mics are using deadcats. My DIY Sairen EM272 omni is using a modified deadcat from the Rode VideoMicro. As you can clearly hear during the test, there's a complete failure of the RODE VIDEOMIC GO II and its capsule is being completely wiped out of the best part of both takes. This means that you will have totally unusable dialogue and voice recordings when vlogging or doing any kind of video and audio recording of voices when it's windy. There were obviously a few times during both takes when my DIY mic was clipping due to wind distortion but even then the dialogue was totally usable and for over 90% of the takes the recordings were perfect.
