I moved to rural Sweden to start a new chapter of my life — and my over 100-year-old cottage keeps surprising me. It is off grid: Well water, sewer on the property, heating and cooking with firewood... Not purely off the grid, but Off Grid Ready! In this winter renovation episode, I finally open the mysterious “Chamber of Secrets” - a strange room filled with cables, outlets, and a hard drive I can’t read. After leaving my life and career in Canada, I started a completely new chapter in rural Sweden with my dog Vicky. This old house always has surprises, but this time I found something I truly don’t understand: a mysterious room attached to the cottage that only has an entrance from the outside. Living alone in rural Sweden with my dog, renovating as a complete beginner, I’m slowly uncovering the history of this house — and maybe a little bit of my own new beginning, too.
