I’ve put together a selection of my favorite MCs and voices that helped shape the culture. This mix blends house and deep house with timeless energy, created for the real heads who know where this music comes from. You’ll hear legends and true ambassadors of the sound, starting with Mr. V — one of the most iconic voices in House Music and the underground. Known for classics like “Jus Dance,” his presence represents the soul, message, and history of the culture. The journey continues with “Back In The Days” featuring Bam, produced by Joyce Muniz. Fresh vocals from Bam (formerly MC Baby Bam) of the legendary 90s hip-hop group The Jungle Brothers (Native Tongues / Zulu Nation) bring raw authenticity to the mix. The track is built around a Kraftwerk sample — “It’s More Fun To Compute” — perfectly bridging electronic roots with deep house grooves. You’ll also hear DJ Ino & MC Johnny Def’s “Rock The Beat,” a hypnotic cut driven by pulsating rhythms and Johnny Def’s haunting spoken word delivery. Of course, no journey through house music would be complete without honoring the foundations. Chicago legend Mike Dunn appears with “If I Can’t Get Down.” A true pioneer of Chicago house, Mike Dunn has been shaping the sound as a DJ and producer since the 1980s. And there are a few more names in here as well. This is only a one-hour set, so there are plenty of artists I’d love to include — maybe in the near future. Turn it up, lock in, and enjoy the ride. #ElectronicVibes #DJLife #DJPeterFran
