Francois Leguat was a French naturalist and explorer who lived on the island of Rodrigues in Mauritius from 1691-1693. He was the first to formally describe the Rodrigues Solitaire, Rodrigues Giant Tortoise, Newton's Parakeet and many other species we know existed. But there is one that is still a mystery, Francois Legut's Giant Bird (scientific name is "Leguatia Gigantea!") it was described as being 6 foot tall, with claws, a very long neck and tall legs but with a small body.
