Watch as 24 British Army Challenger 2 battle tanks and 2 recovery vehicles arrive aboard 2 different trains in Parsberg, Germany. The army tanks then march by road to the Hohenfels Training Area for US Army-led Exercise Combined Resolve. There have been 51 Challenger 2 Main Battle Tanks (MBTs) of the 12th (UK) Armoured Brigade Combat Team deployed to Europe on Exercise Steadfast Defender, with over half travelling by train through the Channel Tunnel and the others out of storage in Germany. Tanks of the Kings Royal Hussars are participating in Combined Resolve, along with the US Army's 101st Airborne Division, 2nd Romanian Infantry Division, and many other NATO allies. Challenger Armoured Repair and Recovery Vehicles (CRARRV) have also arrived to support the battlegroup. A DB (Deutsche Bahn) Class 232 locomotive 'Ludmilla' pulls the first set of tanks, while a Euro Cargo Rail (ECR) Class 66 pulls the second lot. Exercise Steadfast Defender is the largest NATO military exercise to be held since the Cold War. Over 90,000 troops are participating with several other exercises taking place within Steadfast Defender, such as Combined Resolve, Defender Europe and Grand Quadriga. Armed forces have traveled by road, sea and air all across Europe and the North Atlantic.
