It's tough to get further out of my wheelhouse than an envelope filter. Fast attack and release settings, the "quacky" vibe of it all... it just seems like it could not be further afield from how I play guitar. But GFI has never been a company that takes the obvious approach so today we're taking a long hard look at the ROSSIE filter as an ambient soundscaping tool. Lets took at the wonderfully versatile manual filter, the randomizable step filter, and even the traditional envelope filter and see how the GFI approach to these settings can be applied to washy, ambient compositions.
