Acetabulum------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Acetabular margin – acetabular labrum attaches here Acetabular notch – gap in the acetabular margin, bridged by the transverse acetabular ligament thereby forming the acetabular foramen Lunate Surface – articulates with head of femur, crescent shaped, wider superiorly, upper portion is the weight bearing surface Acetabular fossa – ligament teres Ilium-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Body – upper 2/5 of acetabulum Ala a. External Surface – posterior, anterior, and inferior gluteal lines, and supra acetabular groove (acetabular brim) b. Internal Surface – iliac fossa, auricular surface, iliac tuberosity, pre auricular sulcus c. Iliac Crest – ventral (anterior 2/3) and dorsal (posterior 1/3) segment. Ventral portion divided into inner, intermediate, and outer lip. Dorsal segment divided into an inner and outer sloping surface. Ischium--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Body – ischial tuberosity, ischial spine Ramus – joins inferior ramus of pubis to form the ischiopubic ramus, and this encloses the obturator foramen Pubis------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Superior ramus – pectineal line, obturator crest, obturator groove, iliopubic eminence Body – pubic tubercle, pubic crest, symphyseal surface Inferior ramus – joint ramus of ischium to form the ischiopubic ramus
