The SENTINEL™ Electrical Insulation Socket is a patented, Australian-made component that serves as a modern, safe, and cost-effective alternative to traditional Equipotential Bonding (Earthing/Grounding) for Extraneous Conductive Elements (ECEs) in pool and spa areas. Core Function and Safety - Electric Shock Drowning Protection: The primary function is to prevent electric shock drowning by providing superior electrical insulation for conductive elements within 1.25m of a pool or spa. Double Insulating Properties: The socket uses double insulating properties to achieve compliance with Australian standards. Immediate Insulation: Immediate insulation is attained when the socket is fixed into the core hole using the approved Pure Epoxy Fixing Material. Superior to Other Alternatives: The SENTINEL™ is scientifically tested and solves common problems with purported non-conductive alternatives, such as issues arising from missing grub screw caps or degradation/damage to exterior coatings. Easy Compliance Check: For building certifiers, proof of compliance is made simple by lifting the cover plate of the ECE to visually confirm the presence of the black flange of the SENTINEL™ Electrical Insulation Socket. Economical and Time-Saving: It avoids the complexity, time, and cost associated with installing extensive wiring and connecting to the earthing grid, which must be done by a licensed electrician. Product Design and Components - Modular Design: The socket consists of modular sections—1 x Flange, 2 x Bodies, and 1 x Base for the standard model (SEIS-S). Customizable Height: The modular design allows the socket to be lengthened by adding extra SENTINEL™ BODY sections (50mm height extension) to suit the embedded requirements of the ECE. Secure Assembly: Components are securely fixed together using Male and Female Bayonet fittings. Concealment: The design allows the socket to be completely hidden from view once the cover plate of the ECE is installed. Inclusivity: Unlike other alternatives, the SENTINEL™ is inclusive of popular finishes for ECEs, such as Polished or Brushed Stainless Steel. Material: The standard components are made from Glass Filled Nylon. Sizing: The standard socket (SEIS-S) is designed to suit a 76-77mm diameter core drill hole. Installation-Aiding Features - Epoxy Injection Aperture: A dedicated aperture in the base is used for the injection of the pure epoxy fixing material to secure the socket in the core hole. Chamfered Edge Base: This design element assists the flow of the pure epoxy material from under the base and up the sides of the socket. External Protrusions: These features on the body aid in securing the SENTINEL™ into the core-drilled hole once the pure epoxy fixing material is applied. Venting Apertures: Small apertures are present in the flange to vent air, allowing the pure epoxy material to rise up the outside of the socket for a solid fix. Internal Protrusions: These features on the inside of the body aid in securing the Extraneous Conductive Element itself with non-shrink grout.
