Instead, lock your wrist and arm, and hinge up and down from your elbow. You'll be able to play much longer that way and you won't strain your wrists. Also, get up on the sticks so you can play down on the head. You'll have more leverage and it will make it easier to press down and get a good solid buzz sounds.
