This is a steam excursion from Steamtown National Historic Site, Scranton, PA to Delaware Water Gap, PA on Saturday, June 26th, 2010. Steam Locomotive is Canadian National #3254, a 2-8-2 type, built in 1917 by the Canadian Locomotive Company for the Canadian Government Railways. Coach Cars pulled were ex-Lackawanna and Central Railroad of NJ cars. This excursion was supposed to be pulled by steam all the way to the Delaware Water Gap, but had to be terminated at Moscow for a switch to Diesel due to a truck driver striking the Jubilee Rd bridge in Moscow on Thursday Evening, June 24th. The excursion was pulled by a pair of ex-Reading EMD FP7 diesel locomotives (#902 and 903) from Moscow to Delaware Water Gap, and return to Steamtown. The views of part 1 are all from the left (east) side of the train as it makes its way to Delaware Water Gap, PA. We will pass through the communities of Moscow, Gouldsboro, Tobyhanna, Pocono Summit, Mt Pocono, Cresco, Paradise Valley, Henryville, Analomink, East Stroudsburg and Delaware Water Gap. Some buildings and other points of interest you will see along this route on this video is: Moscow Station, Tobyhanna Army Depot, Keystone Propane, Mt. Pocono Station, Pocono Summit Lake, Millpond No 1, Larsen Lake, Snag Pond, Cresco Station, Evergreen Golf Course, and of course, the Pocono Mountains.
