Anytime problems happen with the gallbladder, surgery is a treatment option to prevent future gallstones, reduce infection or pain from gallbladder dysfunction. An intraoperative cholangiogram is a test performed to ensure there are no stones blocking the cystic duct or in the common bile duct.
