Hi everyone, I wanted to show off some advances on the Duel Disk project. Currently I have coded a framework that replicates the original gameplay and displays the cards in a virtual field. The framework still lacks trap cards and continuous spells but I'll add them in no time. Based on this framework every card of the game has to be manually coded so that takes a lot of time and sometimes the framework need to accommodate for unforeseen cases like quickplay effects and how to deal with them. All in all I'm really satisfied with the end result and I wanted to show you the advances of it. Explanation of the mechanics: Every card has a unique python code in the framework and a unique id (the number in the bottom left of the card) that is hardcoded into the NFC chip in the sleeve. The new wireless Duel Disk scans each card and provides user input via 5 buttons. Each card is different so first a user need to scan a card to select the possible actions. Damage calculation is dealt as in the original game and the first player who's life points reaches zero loses the duel. New video showing the battle phase mechanics will be out soon.
