Sky News Australia will become News24 later this year, as Australia’s first 24-hour news channel marks its 30th anniversary with a new identity that will unlock new opportunities for growth. The rebrand, announced at the official launch of the network’s new broadcast centre in Sydney, reflects the channel’s evolution from a traditional linear Australian television service to a digital-first platform with a growing international audience. News24 will continue to feature the distinct offering of live breaking news, sharp analysis and opinion programming that has built the network’s audience over three decades – led by the same experienced on-air team viewers know and trust. The News24 name embraces the heritage and editorial credentials of the world’s leading journalism company, News Corp, that grew from a small tabloid newspaper in Adelaide to a global media brand. The logo incorporates News Corp’s global brand identity, featuring a script font drawn from the handwriting of Chairman Emeritus Rupert Murdoch and his father, Sir Keith Murdoch. By adopting the "News" script, News24 creates a visible connection to a century of journalistic excellence established by Sir Keith and Rupert Murdoch that continues under the leadership of News Corp’s Global Chair Lachlan Murdoch. The launch completes the network’s integration within News Corp Australia (NCA) following its acquisition of Australian News Channel (ANC) in 2016 and coincides with the opening of a new broadcast centre at News Corp Australia’s Sydney headquarters. The go-live date of News24 will be announced in the coming months.
