Welcome back gang, the prodigal Youtuber is back with yet another banger!!! Today as we're all gearing up for the 2nd season of Hlomu: The Wife, I'd like for us to take a look back at how much of a flop season 1 was. Although there's some highlights there and there, they honestly get buried by bad writing. It's an honest tragedy as the story has already been preestablished by Dudu's books. The source material is there and has been beloved by those who've purchased her books. This live adaptation should've been an easy open layup but the execution ibahlulile. I haven't even read a page of the book, but I can tell that there's a lot missing. It legit felt like a slap to the face for those who've purchased the books and fell in love with these characters, only for them to be butchered on a huge platform like showmax. Saying that it's an "inspired" take on her books so there's no need to be mad, seems like an ignorant excuse to hide behind. Yes it could be "inspired" by her books, but that doesn't mean that it's immune to criticism. "Inspired" isn't a shield to use against fan backlash. I go deeper in the video, and further my concerns.
