The Garmin allows you to select whether you race against your own PR, your Goal (set in Strava) the KOM or QOM or a friends time (one above you in the rankings) Which is BEST? Neither and both. The Polar has a dedicated Strava Segments Training Page. Unless you are viewing this particular page you do NOT get bothered by Strava segment data. The Garmin Edge will display notification each time you approach a segment. It is necessary to DISMISS the segment if you do not wish to race it. it would be useful if the Polar gave similar functionality to the Garmin Edge, that being the selection of which time to race - your own PR, a friends, the KOM /QOM or your own Strava Goal
