Fish(ing) was often a vertex for double entendres and general subtext on XWP, beginning as early as the suggestive fishing scene in S1's "Altared States" that--interestingly--also seems to be the PTB's first deliberate invitation to viewers to imagine the existence of a non-platonic relationship between Xena and Gabrielle. (And what an invitation it was!) Fish(ing) as an activity or subject was rife with potential for writers & actors to point to the Love that Could Not Be Named in an undeniable but still veiled manner. Under Fair Use, in this video, I illustrate and honor (by adopting and furthering it) that strategy of creating subtext on the best ever Lesbian Show that Wasn't. So, c'mon . . . "Let's get wet!"
