Introductory Nomenclature 35:00 9. Fahrenheit Far Away 39:37 Telefon Tel Aviv was a duo consisting of Joshua Eustis and Charlie Cooper (1977-2009), who started making music together in 1999. As a duo, they released three albums, starting with this one in 2001. The other two are great as well, though all 3 are distinct in sound; 2004's Map of What Is Effortless is more of a similar IDM/downtempo, but with songs featuring vocals (it's more of a pop album), while Immolate Yourself (2009) is a synthpop album, kind of M83, kind of TRST, kind of The Knife, but ultimately its own, and quite good. Since Cooper's demise in 2009, Eustis has released Dreams Are Not Enough (2019), an album of brooding dark IDM and ambient tracks on which Eustis really flexes his flair for sound design, and For James, to Sleep (2020), a 62 minute ambient piece. Eustis has also been a touring member of Nine Inch Nails (who TTA have also remixed brilliantly) and Puscifer, and is a member of The Black Queen with Greg Puciato. He occasionally tours as Telefon Tel Aviv.
