If you’d like to schedule a consultation, fill out the contact form on this page https://www.beckerplastics.com/. Hi, this is Dr. Kirk Lozada. I'm a facial plastic surgeon and rhinoplasty specialist at Penn Medicine, Becker ENT. And this is Two Minute Consults. A lateral temporal lift or a Fox eye lift is something that is very frequently requested in the office from the influences of social media, like Kendall Jenner, looking at her eyebrow shape. People come in for quick fixes and wanting to get that shape to their eyebrows. So what is a Fox eye lift? We're talking about lifting just the tail and outer aspect of the eyebrow up. There are many different ways to do this. You can use Botox or Boxelinatoxin to basically weaken the muscle underneath the eyebrow to lift it up slightly. You can also use threads that are much more noninvasive and nonsurgical to lift up the tail of the eyebrow. However, unfortunately, threads don't really last and it's not something that I feel gives a long lasting result. And I prefer to do something surgically. So who are good candidates to do this procedure on? Candidates who are good procedures need three different things. Number one, they need a good amount of hair that covers where the incision is going to be placed out here. If you have good hair coverage there, then the scar's going to hide extremely well and no one will know that you had the surgery. Number two, it's important to have some amount of skin laxity here because we need to be able to lift that brow up. And so having some skin laxity is very critical. Number three, it is preferable to have a short distance between where the tail of the eyebrow is to where the hairline starts, because we're pulling from a further point away and not directly at the eyebrow. So if that hairline starts a lot further back, we're going to get a much more limited lift than if it's much closer and we can pull a lot stronger.
