Relaxing DIY "cheap-sugi" (kintsugi) approach on broken bonsai pot repair with gold colored powder and epoxy resin. Become a channel member and receive exclusive benefits:    / @naturgeist   In Japanese, Kintsugi (金継ぎ) means "golden joinery". Kintsukuroi (金繕い) means "golden repair". Traditionally, Japanese pottery is repaired with a special varnish (made from the sap of the urushi tree) dusted with gold powder (as well as silver and platinum). While epoxy resin is not used in traditional kintsugi, it has become a popular DIY binder. Unless you use food-safe epoxy resin, this method isn't food safe. The cracks in a broken pot can be made to appear filled with gold by using gold-colored pigment powder from the craft store instead of real precious metals. It is definitely worth considering Kintsugi if you want to repair broken pots to reuse them or just want to decorate them.
