We planned to be at Everest Base Camp on 1st January 2021, to celebrate our New Year. But as you know, we were delayed by a late start to the journey, then we ran out of money in Namche Bazaar and then we changed our route and here we are at Gokyo. It was a chilly morning of - 11 degrees and we decided to go to Gokyo Ri and then come back to a brunch, which was a fatal decision, which we realized later in the day. We started our morning day trek to Gokyo Ri. This is at a peak of 5360 M. It is located on the west side of the Ngozumpa glacier, which is the largest glacier in Nepal and reputed to be the largest in the whole Himalayas  This was not a simple hike, it felt like a climb. It was this little hill right next to our lodge. I call this the "Dhokha" - Deceit  Oh lord, nothing is simple at an altitude of 5000 Mts. I was very tired by the time I made it to the top but to my surprise, I was relieved because of the fantastic view.   I would have said many time to avoid it and all, but please do the Everest Base Camp via Gokyo, its the most beautiful trek I have come across ever since Peru and Chile. We enjoyed the beautiful view of Mt. Everest and other peaks. We got down very swiftly. It took us about 4 hours to climb up and be back at the lodge. The next Vlog is crazy, It's a continuation to this day. We have our lunch and on the way, we come across other trekkers who say "Everything is closed n Thagnak"  What do we do?
