In today's lesson, children engage with the story "Cupig" by Claire Tattersfield. They will explore rhyming and kindness, create an art project and extend their learning with a social emotional learning activity. Supplies: Pink and red construction paper, white paper, scissors, crayons or markers, glue, (optional: stickers, heart shaped cookie cutter) Learning extension: Continue the theme of kindness at home by creating a "Kindness jar". Every time somone in the family does something kind, they can write it down on a slip of paper and put it in the jar. At the end of the week, they can read hte notes together to celebrate their acts of kindness. Sugar is a certified art teacher. Art Time with Sugar is for preschool to early elementary aged students.
