I wanted to share a cool guitar lick in G that I've picked up from Rod Stewart's "Gasoline Alley." Here's how to play it: Start on the D string, hammering from open to the second fret. Then play open G, second fret G, and here's the tricky part - slide from the second to fourth fret on the G string. Hit the third fret on the B string, back to fourth fret G, second fret G, open, then second fret D, and open. The key is getting that slide from 2 to 4 on the G string right - hit it once and drag it slow with a pull-off. You can vary this lick however you want - it's an old bluesy country blues pattern.
