Asinomania is dedicated to donkeys, which are native to Abruzzo but not as numerous as they once were. Eugenio Milonis, the farm’s owner, uses calm, docile therapy donkeys to help treat people for disabilities or stress – both helping people relax and finding a new purpose for the animals, whose numbers have dwindled as modern machinery has largely replaced them as working animals. At the farm in Introdacqua, visitors can ride the donkeys (7€), visit the donkey museum and buy donkey milk. On trekking tours, guests spend three hours walking with the donkeys on mountain paths (10€ per person for a minimum of 10 people; reservations required).
