The National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ), an immersive and interactive museum, chronicles the story of Qatar and its people from the beginning to the present. It does this by bringing the natural history of the peninsula to life, giving voice to Qatar's rich legacy and culture, and expressing the ambitions of a thriving society for the future. As the focal point of the new museum, the restored historic Palace of Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani (1880-1957), son of the founder of modern-day Qatar, is featured. This building was once the residence of the Royal Family and the seat of government, and it later housed the first National Museum.
