Many youth with ADHD struggle with completing homework, planning ahead for projects and tests, organizing school materials, and using time efficiently. This presentation provides parents of youth with ADHD with an understanding of some practical strategies for building and encouraging students’ use of homework, organization, and planning skills. Learning Objectives: -Learn key principles for promoting homework, organization, and time management skills in youth with ADHD -Discuss specific strategies for encouraging homework recording and planning, organization of materials, and time management. Speaker Bio: Melissa Dvorsky, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist specializing in attention, learning, behavior and ADHD in children, adolescents and emerging adults and their families. She is Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at The George Washington University School of Medicine and in the Children’s National Hospital. She is the director of research for the ADHD and Learning Differences Program. Dr. Dvorsky’s clinical work and research are focused on helping children, adolescents and emerging adults with ADHD and their families be resilient and successful. She has multiple publications on improving access to, and effectiveness of treatments for youth with ADHD in schools and communities.
