In this short clip, we get a small taste of the Mary Margaret O'Hara Quartet performing live at the fifth annual Strangewaves Music and Art Festival held at the Paris Agricultural Society in Paris, ON. The MMOQ's set was cut short due to a tornado that ripped through the festival grounds, forcing attendees to run for cover. Video by Hamilton's beloved Peter Michael Wilson Strangewaves Music & Art Festival returned to the Paris Fairgrounds for the 5th annual weekend of wild and wacky fun. This year's edition was titled Mother Nature. The maternal, nurturing aspects of Mother Nature are vital to Strangewaves, a festival that celebrates femme-identifying and non-binary artists, as well as believes strongly in the need to acknowledge the origins of the land we inhabit, specifically in a way that directly recognizes the traditional Indigenous territory of the Haudenosaunee & Mississaugas of the New Credit Territory, on which we hold the festival. Previous artists who have performed at the festival include Sun Ra Arkestra, Jlin, Jessy Lanza, Moor Mother, Lolina, RAMZi, Laraaji, The Urinals, Lido Pimienta, Pharmakon, Jennifer Castle, Chad VanGaalen, and many more. Strangewaves welcomes all people who refrain from harmful behaviour while attending an event. Harmful behaviour includes harassment, violence, and violation of consent. The Paris Fairgrounds have a mixed terrain, making it partially wheelchair accessible. There are wheelchair accessible washrooms on site.
