Mexico Travel : Magic Towns Series : Episode 1 Mascota

Clear Travel is currently traveling around Mexico. In our Mexico Travel segment we will be visiting Magic Towns located throughout Mexico. What are Magic Towns? Mexico is best known to the outside world for its posh beach resorts. However, in 2001, the Mexico Tourism Board created the Magical Towns Program, an initiative which promotes a series of towns across Mexico due to their history, rich culture, unique traditions, and natural beauty. As of August 2018 there are currently 111 towns bearing the “Magical Towns,” or “Pueblos Mágicos” designation. According to Smithsonian.com “To qualify, a city must demonstrate a mix of historical, cultural and aesthetic qualities. Each city has aspects that set it apart from others in the country, including folklore and legends or historical events and a unique everyday life. It must also be well preserved, retaining its heritage-based value both tangibly and intangibly.” This week we are visiting the Magic Town of Mascota. Mascota is a town located in the Mexican State of Jalisco and it is a two hour drive from Puerto Vallarta.
