(with a whole checks ao3 2 fics out there!) does that matter? not in the slightest. Before I get into details, here's a quick recap on who LINNEA OPJER and ULLA MOROZOVA are (for those who don't remember or haven't read the nikolai duology and language of thorns): LINNEA is canonically Nikolai's half-sister, who is studying in Ketterdam. She's mentioned a few times throughout the duology and appears in person in one scene - when Inej notices Alina in the crowd during Zoya's coronation, Nikolai tries to distract her by introducing his sister to her. https://thegrishaverse.fandom.com/wik... ULLA is the Darkling's half-sister. She is a sildroher who appears in the Fjerdan tale "When Water Sang Fire" and is mentioned as Sankta Ursula of the Waves in "The Lives of Saints". I wanted to make something special for you to celebrate the occasion - and here we are (a few days late, but still). I deliberately didn't mention ANYTHING connected to it to fully surprise you, I hope you enjoy it! sending you all the love in the world🤍🤍🤍 Your friend, Anna Here's a little summary of what I had in mind when creating this AU, because I know it gets confusing when it's shown non-chronologically (also making it vague to keep it open for interpretation): The Morozovas and Lantsovs were always at each others throats ever since anyone can remember, both involved in not-so-legal activities. Aleksander and Nikolai form a mutually beneficial partnership - that's essentially what brings Ulla and Linnea together. With time, their partnership evolves into something more intimate. A few months later Nikolai and Linnea are taking care of some business together. Moments before disaster Nikolai senses it's a trap set by the morozovas and warns his sister who manages to escape. Nikolai isn't so lucky and dies. Linnea goes to confront Ulla thinking she was involved. Ulla is adamant on defending her brother thinking him innocent, but it's unclear whether she was in on it. Linnea disappears for quite a while. Ulla starts to question if Aleksander wasn't playing the Lantsovs from the beginning all along. When Linnea is back, it is to kill Aleksander. "An eye for an eye" sort of vendetta. (basically aleksander blows up nikolai and his sister's relationship in the process RIP) I also wanted to give a little shoutout to the darkolai server which introduced me to the ship last year (back when I joined with lili only to later forget I'm in it jsdgfjsgf). If it weren't for you guys I probably still wouldn't know this ship exists ❤️ This my first 'bigger' finished grishaverse modern au and I won't lie I was a bit stressed that I accidentally repeated a scene - but there are so many out there that it was so hard to check, so I hope that didn't happen 🫠 On a more technical note, youtube messed with the quality in several previous vids so I decided to try uploading this in 4k to see if it helps in any way.
