BUDGET NORTHERN LIGHTS TRIP IN MURMANSK, RUSSIA 🇷🇺 | FULL EXPERIENCE + COST BREAKDOWN I decided to visit Murmansk, Russia to experience the Northern Lights — and trust me, this is one of the cheapest places in the world to see the Aurora! After landing in Moscow, you can explore the city or take a direct flight to Murmansk. The flights are super affordable — usually $50–$60, and if you book early, you can even find tickets for $35. In Murmansk, I stayed at Yagel Hostel for just $10 per night. You can book it easily on the ZenHotels app (Visa accepted). But make sure to carry cash, because most tour companies in Murmansk only accept cash payments. I booked an Aurora hunting tour for 3500 RUB. They picked me up from the city centre, which is only a 10-minute walk from Yagel Hostel. From there, they drive you outside the city to a perfect dark spot where you can clearly see the Aurora Borealis. Tour Highlights: – 4-hour Northern Lights hunt – Professional aurora photos included (FREE) – Pick-up & drop-off from city centre – Budget-friendly & beginner friendly After the tour, they drop you back in the city centre. Thank you for watching! If you have any questions about Murmansk, Russia, Northern Lights, or solo travel—drop them in the comments and I’ll reply ASAP Tour Compney page https://www.instagram.com/teriberka_a... The best time to see the Northern Lights in Murmansk is from September to April, with October to March giving the highest chances. Auroras are usually most active between 10 PM and 2 AM. You can see them inside Murmansk, but it’s much clearer outside the city—places like Aurora Village or other dark “shining points” recommended by the tourism board. Since the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, sightings aren’t guaranteed, so staying 3–4 nights increases your chances. Always check aurora forecasts like the Kp index to pick the best night.
