Fun with Five with Polyrhythms Drum and Percussion Jam

I have a few original things on ‪@bobsondrums‬ . This one is a thang I have been messing with for the last 10 years or so. I’ve always felt that a sign of a good drummer or band is if they can play in odd meters, but keep it danceable. This one isn’t overly complicated, but does have a brief polyrhythm. I start hitting the cowbell on 1, 3, 5, 2, and 4 to give it a 4 over 5 feel. In other places, it sounded pretty cool to hit my repenique with my left hand while still hitting a backbeat on the snare with my right. It almost sounds like a dumbek in this context. Layering percussion tracks to create textures and different rhythms was super fun.
