Fantastic to bring you to Northumberland on the latest This Racing Life! We first speak to Paul Robson who has taken an interesting path in racing to this point and is now training out of his new base at South Hazelrigg, where he has 25+ horses in his care and top-class facilities at his disposal. Robson had a successful early career as a jockey before a persistent shoulder injury forced him into an early retirement aged just 22. He then spent time as a funeral director before a brief return to the saddle in 2019 before moving into training in 2021. We also hear of Robson's unlikely friendship with Hen Knight as well as a burgeoning partnership with new stable jockey, Ryan Mania, who features throughout. We then visit Bedmax HQ to chat to Operations Manager, Olivia Leyland, to see production and chat about the many health benefits of their various products. During our insightful and educational visit, we see how the distinctive yellow bales are produced and distributed worldwide, as well as hearing of the many checks and protocols that take it from raw pine to finished product. Finally, we pay a visit to trainer Adam Nicol, whose yard goes from strength to strength following a visit last summer. There are now 25+ horses on the books with facilities being upgraded at his Seahouses base, with a purpose-built gallop under construction and a new stable block.
