April 11 – Denton, TX I spent the weekend with Mariam. The kind of weekend that doesn’t ask much from you, just to be present. Mornings moved slow, light spilled softly through the windows, and the air inside the place felt like a quiet memory. while mariam was sharing projects, notes, drawings and little things mariam held through the journey in life. Each page felt like i was going into her own world. My favorite part was when ended the day on the rooftop, catching the last bit of sunlight as it melted behind the trees. The sky turned gold, then blue, with the full moon giving us a bit of light and next thing I know we were enjoying a lovely dinner with Turid Horgen, Mariam’s landlord, an architect with a thoughtful eye, her home felt like it carried many stories in the walls, built with intention and calm. By the end of the weekend It all felt familiar in a way I couldn’t explain.
