I have just finished restoring our Bush TV12A of 1949. It needed 16 new capacitors, 5 resistors, a 50K ohm vertical hold potentiometer and a valve over several days of work in order to fault find and make repairs in order to make it work again. I am using a 625 to 405 line standards converter with Band 1 VHF modulated output to allow direct feed into the sets aerial socket. The picture tube has a central Ion burn to the phosphor which is typical of this early tube technology. This set is a TRF fix tuned to 45MHz to receive the original 405 line VHF signal from the BBC at the time. 405 line VHF Band 1 ceased to be broadcast on 3rd January 1985.
