Wonderful excursion on the Salto plateau above the town of San Genesio Atesino. The route develops at high altitude on the enchanting Salto Plateau, near Bolzano, offering a panoramic view of the Tschaufer Hohe, also known as Colle del Giovo, and guaranteeing excellent refreshment options along the way. The walk stands out for its beauty, offering a spectacular panorama of the majestic Dolomite groups of Latemar, Catinaccio and Sciliar. During autumn, the experience is further enriched with the evocative setting of golden-hued larches. A further element of charm during this excursion is the possibility of admiring the magnificent Haflinger horses that graze placidly in the numerous meadows along the route, adding a touch of grace and beauty to the surrounding landscape. ITINERARY From San Genesio (1132 m), at the crossroads to go to Montoppio, take path 33, which then becomes 33A, until you reach the Gasthof Locher (1275 m). Here you go right along trail sign 2 and passing near the Earth Pyramids of Montoppio (1335 m) you reach the Gasthof Tschaufen (1310 m). Here you take path 7 and pass the Saltnerhof (1430 m) and the Gasthof Edelweiss (1355 m) and then following trail sign 33 you return to the starting point.
