This is the untold story of my first ever solo travel trip. This video shows my time in Bolivia. There is no video footage from this part of the trip as my phone was stolen, more about that in a future video. However, there are some photos and the story must be told! I arrived here from a 3 day trip in 4x4s from San Pedro de Atacama to the town of Uyuni. We headed quickly to the capital of Sucre. It was amazing to think I had been travelling for 3 months at this point. Only really on the road for a few weeks as I was previously doing workaways (one in a hostel in Santiago, Chile. The other in a community hub in El Bolson, Patagonia, Argentina) I had been travelling with Claudia, whom I had worked with at the hostel and became good friends. As travellers you are always on your own path and some people join for various points in time, and it was time for us to go our separate ways. I was on my own for the first time actually backpacking, however you are never really alone. Arriving in La Paz to another hostel, recommend by people on the road: Wild Rover. It was clear I would not be alone here after a standard Sunday pub quiz turned into dancing on tables and the bar! Bolivia was such a different place to anywhere I had been, really preserving traditional and beautiful landscapes. Using La Paz as a base I would explore the city, go mountain biking on the Yungas route (Death Road)….and then head to Isla Del Sol on Lake Titicaca, the highest lake in the world. I would also experience Bolivian carnival like the locals in the town Oruro. I was packed into the rafter seating and interacted with families viewing an endless parade! What an experience. After spending longer than expected, I headed into Peru. I had made more travel companions and was due to meet back up with Marina from the Santiago sister hostel. Things were going great, but it was not to last… There was no Travel Bubble at the time, and my journey was documented via a diary blog called AdsVentures (http://adsventures1.blogspot.co.uk/) here you can view the unedited, raw stories in full. You cannot view any former video highlights for Bolivia due to the phone incident and footage being lost but you can view the other adventures in their origin form. I had no idea about what filming and making a video was really about, a collection of clips, photos and stories have formed this throwback solo series. Created to prequel Travel Bubble and to show other adventures from around the world. This footage is a combination of photo and video from Bolivia 2016. The video is from the biking death road tour company as I subsequently had my phone stolen and lots of the raw footage was lost. This video and these memories are the most personal project to date, and the trickiest story to tell. I hope you enjoy.
