Ma non è soltanto una meraviglia naturale: è il risultato di un impegno serio e continuo per proteggere un ecosistema fragile e prezioso. Anse Takamaka si trova nel sud-ovest di Mahé ed è la classica spiaggia che ti fa dire: “Ok, adesso posso restare qui per sempre.” Zero palazzoni, zero caos: solo sabbia dorata, palme che si tuffano verso l’oceano e, ogni tanto, qualcuno che arriva con la tavola da surf per saltare tra le onde. E mentre noi ci perdiamo nella bellezza, il governo delle Seychelles continua a lavorare dietro le quinte per far sì che posti come questo restino così… per sempre. Nel gennaio 2025, sotto il Nature Reserves and Conservancy Act, nuove isole sono diventate aree protette e alcune spiagge di Mahé — fondamentali per la nidificazione delle tartarughe marine — hanno ottenuto protezioni stagionali speciali. Non solo: è stato aggiornato anche il piano nazionale anti-sversamenti, perché qui l’oceano non è “solo mare”. È casa, cibo, lavoro, vita. But it’s not just a natural wonder — it’s the result of serious, ongoing efforts to protect a fragile and precious ecosystem. Anse Takamaka lies in the southwest of Mahé, and it’s one of those places that makes you instantly think: “Okay, I could totally stay here forever.” No big buildings, no noise — just golden sand, palms diving toward the ocean, and the occasional surfer catching the perfect wave. And while we lose ourselves in this beauty, the Seychelles government works behind the scenes to ensure places like this stay… exactly like this. In January 2025, under the Nature Reserves and Conservancy Act, new islands were designated as protected areas, and several beaches on Mahé — essential for sea-turtle nesting — were granted special seasonal protections. Not only that: the national oil spill contingency plan was also updated, because here the ocean isn’t “just water.” It’s home, food, work — life. Seychelles truly believes in the blue economy: sustainable fishing, responsible tourism, research, ecotourism. And, quite uniquely, they actively involve visitors in restoring native vegetation and protecting the environment. And the result? Wherever you look, nature shines.
